NSTSENational Level Science Talent Search Examination
About NSTSE
NSTSE, run by Hyderabad’s Unified Council since 1998, styles itself a "diagnostic" talent exam: rather than only ranking students, it returns a skill-wise report showing exactly where a child’s conceptual grip on maths and science is weak. The hour-long paper carries no negative marking and scales from 40 questions in Class 1 to 60 from Class 3 onward.
The exam is available both through schools and by direct online registration, making it one of the more accessible private talent tests. Top national and class rankers receive cash awards, medals and gift vouchers, but its enduring appeal for parents is the granular feedback report rather than the prize table.
Accepted by: National and class-level ranks, cash awards, medals and certificates from Unified Council, plus a diagnostic Student Performance Report; no admission or team-selection role
