About BITS HD

BITS HD is the in-house higher-degree admission test of BITS Pilani, and for pharmacy aspirants it is the alternative doorway into one of India's oldest and best-regarded private pharmacy departments. BITS prepares two separate merit lists for each M.Pharm programme — one from GPAT scores and one from BITS HD test marks — filling up to half the seats from each list, so a candidate with a modest GPAT rank still has a genuine second route. GATE scores, used for the M.E. programmes, are not considered for M.Pharm.

The online test packs 100 MCQs into 135 minutes across two timed sections: a 30-question Test 1 (45 minutes) probing core analytical and science fundamentals, and a 70-question Test 2 (105 minutes) on the pharmacy discipline. Marking is +3/−1 with no penalty for skipping. The M.Pharm itself runs four semesters with specializations including pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical chemistry, and BITS's practice-school/thesis model links final-semester work to industry sites — a feature that shows up in its placement record. Candidates should watch the admissions portal (bitsadmission.com / admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in) for the annual brochure, as iteration-wise counselling and campus-wise programme availability are announced there.

Accepted by: M.Pharm programmes at BITS Pilani (Pilani and Hyderabad campuses); up to 50% of seats are filled by GPAT merit and the remainder by BITS HD test merit
