About NIPER JEE

NIPER JEE is the single gateway to India's most prestigious pharmacy institutions: the seven National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, declared Institutes of National Importance by an Act of Parliament and run under the Department of Pharmaceuticals. Together they offer over a thousand master's seats annually across MS (Pharm) research specializations (medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology & toxicology, pharmaceutical analysis, natural products, biotechnology, regulatory toxicology and more), plus M.Tech (Pharm), MBA (Pharm) at NIPER Mohali, and PhD positions. Conduct of the exam rotates among the institutes, with NIPER Guwahati running recent editions on behalf of all seven.

The test is deliberately a second filter: candidates must already hold a valid GPAT, GATE or NET qualification just to apply, and NIPER JEE then ranks that pre-qualified pool through a fast, breadth-heavy paper — 200 MCQs in 120 minutes spanning the entire pharmacy curriculum with a sprinkling of aptitude and statistics, at roughly 36 seconds per question. Negative marking of a quarter-mark per wrong answer punishes blind guessing. Qualified candidates proceed to counselling conducted by the participating institutes, where rank, category and specialization preferences determine allotment; NIPER Mohali's flagship programmes typically close first. For research-minded pharmacy graduates, a NIPER MS remains the strongest domestic springboard into R&D careers and funded PhDs in India and abroad.

Accepted by: The seven NIPERs — S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Hajipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Raebareli — for MS (Pharm), M.Pharm, M.Tech (Pharm), MBA (Pharm) and PhD programmes
