Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research was established in the year 2000. SMIMER Surat is a self-financed medical college and hospital is managed by the Surat Municipal Corporation. Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research follows the rules & regulations of Medical Council of India, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University & Government of Gujarat. SMIMER is recognised by the Medical Council of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Government of India. Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research provides undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Courses at SMIMER include MBBS at the undergraduate level, PGD, M.Sc, MD and MS at the postgraduate level. Admission to SMIMER MBBS programme is based on the NEET-UG examination, whereas admission to PG programmes is based on the NEET-PG examination. M.Sc admission is based on merit. SMIMER Surat is affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat . Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research offers a variety of facilities for its students, including hostel facilities, a central library, computer labs, cafeteria, an auditorium, transport and medical facilities for its students.
