Admission Process
Established in the year 2011, Swarnim Gujarat Sports University (SGSU) is a state-owned public university. SGSU aims at promoting sports activities among students by offering them a platform to stand at the state as well as national level. SGSU offers various programmes at UG, PG and Doctoral level. Furthermore, the University also offers four short-duration and eight long-duration certificate courses. These programmes are in the field of Sports Management, Sports Event Management, Sports Tourism, Sports Law, Sports Journalism, Sports Massage, Sports Nutrition, and Sports Physiotherapy. SGSU Gandhinagar Admission Process 2021: Fast Facts Swarnim Gujarat Sports University admissions are conducted online through its official admission system. Registration for admission to SGSU commences in April and lasts up to May every year. Here are a few important points regarding admission: Selection to B.P.Ed programme is based on the marks scored in the entrance exam conducted by the University. The entrance exam consists of a written test, proficiency test, and physical fitness test. Marks obtained in Class 12 is also taken into consideration For all other UG programmes, candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in Class 12 Candidates, for PG Diploma programme are selected on the basis of marks scored in graduation Selection to M.P.Ed programme is based on the on merit in the entrance test which consists of written test, sports proficiency test, and marks obtained in the qualifying examination or any other selection process as per the policy of university with due weight on physical fitness test Admission to rest of the PG programmes (MSc, MA and M.P.Ed.S) is done on the basis of marks obtained in graduation For Integrated MPhil and PhD programme, candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored the entrance test conducted by the University. The duration of these programmes varies from course to course. The course-wise eligibility and selection criteria are given below. SGSU Gandhinagar Admission 2021: BSc, B.P.Ed.S and BA The University offers BSc in Sports Coaching, Bachelor of Physical Education in Science (B.P.Ed.S) and BA in Journalism and Mass Communication. All these programmes have a course duration of three years, each year consisting of two semesters. Admission to these programmes is based on the merit in the Class 12 marks. Candidates must satisfy the respective course's eligibility criteria to qualify for admission: Course Eligibility Criteria BSc in Sports Coaching Passed Class 12 in relevant discipline from a recognised board B.P.Ed.S in Sports Science BA in JMC SGSU Gandhinagar BBA Admission 2021 BBA is a three-year full-time programme which comprises of six semesters. Candidates, for BBA programme, are selected based on the score obtained in Class 12. Candidates must note that they should have passed Class 12 with a sports background or participated in state or national level competition. Eligibility criteria for BBA programme is given below: BBA Specialisation Eligibility Criteria Sports Management Passed Class 12 in any stream from a recognised board Event Management with specialisation in Sports SGSU Gandhinagar B.P.Ed Admission 2021 Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) is a two-year or four-semester regular programme. However, students shall be permitted to complete the programme requirements within a maximum time span of three years. Admission to this programme is based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination which consists of a written test, proficiency test, physical fitness test, and marks obtained in Class 12.
