The Staff Selection Commission has released admit cards for Tier 1 of the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026. The computer-based exam runs from 30 September to 30 October 2026.
Key facts
- Vacancies: about 12,256 Group B and Group C posts (tentative).
- Admit card: download from the candidate login on ssc.gov.in using your registration number and password.
- Shifts: 9–10 am, 11:45 am–12:45 pm, 2:30–3:30 pm and 5:15–6:15 pm. Your card tells you which one is yours.
On exam day
- Carry the admit card and a valid photo ID. Without them you will not be let in.
- Phones, smartwatches, pen drives and any other electronic device are banned, as are books, notes and loose paper.
- Reach early. Frisking and biometric checks at SSC centres take time, and gates close before the shift starts.
Plan the month
A month-long window means candidates sitting other exams in October — bank exams, state commission prelims — should check their CGL date the moment the card is downloaded and flag any clash early. Tier 1 is a screening test: it decides who goes forward to Tier 2, where the final merit is built.
