GPSSB reopens the opt-out window for Work Assistant — selected candidates have until 3 October
The Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board has given candidates in its Work Assistant recruitment one more chance to withdraw voluntarily on OJAS. The window runs from 3 pm on 1 October to 11:59 pm on 3 October; once you give up your claim, you cannot get it back.
The Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB) has issued a notice dated 1 October 2026 giving candidates in Advertisement No. 17/2025-26 (Work Assistant) another chance to opt out voluntarily. It is the third such notice; earlier ones were issued on 7 September and 22 September.
Where the recruitment stands
- The competitive exam was held on 15 March 2026.
- A provisional merit list cum document-verification list of 2,005 candidates was published on 9 May 2026.
- Certificate verification was carried out from 29 May to 2 July 2026.
What the notice allows
Candidates who cleared the document-verification stage but have been selected in another recruitment, or no longer want this post, can file a self-declaration giving up their claim. The board's stated reason is that your name should not be counted in the merit for the later stages, so that another eligible candidate gets the chance.

The notice prints the closing date's year as 2025, which is plainly a typing slip in a notice dated 2026. Check the date on OJAS itself.
