Gujarat extends the MBBS/BDS admission cancellation window to noon on 3 October
Gujarat’s UG medical admission committee has given students holding a round-1 or round-2 MBBS/BDS seat until 12 noon on 3 October to cancel in person at their help centre. The state’s round 3 runs inside a national window that closes on 9 October, with joining by 14 October.
At 11:53 am on 1 October 2026, the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) posted a notice extending the cancellation of MBBS/BDS admissions in Gujarat to 12 noon on 3 October. The window had been due to close at 4 pm on 1 October.
Who this is for
Students who confirmed a seat in round 1 or round 2 of Gujarat's counselling and now want out — for example because they have been allotted an all-India-quota, deemed or central-university seat. Cancellation is done in person at the help centre where you reported, within the window. A parent can go for you only with an authority letter signed by you.
Why the timing matters
The all-India round 3 has moved on quickly. The Medical Counselling Committee posted the provisional result of round 3 on 30 September and said any discrepancy had to be raised on the candidate portal by 10 am on 1 October. It also warned that the provisional result is only indicative: students should approach their allotted college only after the final result.

Before you cancel
- Be sure of the other seat first. The committee's procedure for cancellation requires a written application, the original admission order, a fee-receipt copy and proof of the other allotment.
- Cancelling a round-2 seat has a cost: the refundable security deposit is forfeited for candidates who cancelled in round 2, as the committee's published lists show.
- From round 3 onwards, document verification at help centres is against originals only; DigiLocker copies and colour printouts are not accepted.
- Registration for round 3 itself closed on 30 September, and verification on 1 October.
