Gujarat sets three-year fees for 37 technical courses: Navrachana MBA capped at ₹1.66 lakh
The Fee Regulatory Committee (Technical) has fixed fee ceilings for 2026-27 to 2028-29 for 37 courses at private colleges that wanted rises above 5%. Most were granted far less than they asked, and the circular spells out what a college may not charge on top.
The Fee Regulatory Committee (Technical), Gujarat has issued a circular dated 21 September 2026 fixing fees for a three-year block — 2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29 — for private institutions that had asked for a rise of more than 5% on their 2025-26 fee. The list (List-2) covers 37 institution-and-programme entries across architecture, degree and diploma engineering, pharmacy, MBA and MCA. The figures are rupees per student per year and are maximum ceilings.

The committee also set ceilings for 2027-28 and 2028-29; they step up modestly each year (Navrachana's MBA, for example, goes to ₹1,76,000 and then ₹1,85,000). The percentage changes in 2026-27 vary widely — from as little as about 2% (for example at L. J. School of Architecture and L. J. Institute, Sanand) to about 29% at the GIDC college, which starts from the lowest degree-engineering base fee on the list.
The conditions that protect students
- The fee fixed for the year you are admitted applies for your whole course at that institution and is not to be revised until you finish.
- It includes every kind of fee — tuition, library, laboratory, computer, caution money, gymkhana, internet, sports, affiliation. A college may not collect any other fee under any other name.
- No college may collect the fee for the full course upfront. It is collected per semester or six-month term.
- No bank guarantee or security of any kind can be demanded from students or parents.
- No student can be compelled to take hostel or transport as a condition of admission or of continuing.
- Colleges must display the structure on their notice board and the circular on their website's mandatory-disclosure link.
- Extra fees from NRI-quota students must go to a separate bank account, to be used for scholarships for economically weaker students or for infrastructure.
The circular is subject to approvals from regulators and affiliating universities, says a detailed order will follow, and states it is not a basis for seeking approval from the apex body. Check your college's exact line in Appendix I on the committee's website before you pay.
