GSRTC is hiring 2,510 helpers — an ITI pass and an apprenticeship put you ahead
Gujarat’s state bus corporation is recruiting 2,510 Helpers on a fixed pay of ₹21,100 a month for five years. Applications on OJAS close at 11:59 pm on 6 October. Age 18 to 35; an ITI in a mechanical or electrical trade is the minimum.
The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation has advertised 2,510 posts of Helper (advertisement GSRTC/202627/47) — one of the largest single intakes for ITI-qualified candidates in the state this year.
The job
- Pay: a fixed ₹21,100 a month for five years.
- Posting: any division or depot of the corporation, as needed.
- Age: 18 to 35, with the usual relaxation for reserved categories. Clear eyesight is required.
Who qualifies
A government-recognised ITI course of at least one year in one of these trades: Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Mechanic Diesel, General Mechanic, Fitter, Turner, Electrician, Sheet Metal Worker, Auto Mobile Body Repairer, Welder, Welder-cum-Fabricator, Machinist, Carpenter, Painter General or Auto Mobile Paint Repairer.
How selection works
- A 100-mark MCQ test (OMR or computer-based) carries 90% of the weight.
- An apprenticeship certificate (NCVT) in the same trade as your ITI carries the other 10%. An ITI electrician who apprenticed as an electrician gets it; one who apprenticed as a lineman or wireman does not.
- Candidates are called for document verification at about 1.5 times the number of posts.
That 10% is the whole game in an exam with this many candidates. If you finished an ITI and never did the apprenticeship, this is the clearest illustration you will get of what it is worth.

- Unreserved 1,003 · EWS 261 · SEBC 659 · SC 170 · ST 417 — each with a women's share. 502 posts are for ex-servicemen and 52 for persons with disabilities.
- Apply on OJAS until 11:59 pm on 6 October 2026; the exam process fee can be paid until 8 October.
- Upload your own photo and signature. Only one application per candidate is kept — the last fee-paid one.
