NEET PG 2026 result is out: general cut-off at 262, scorecards from 1 October

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences declared the NEET PG 2026 result on 24 September 2026, ahead of the 30 September deadline it had set itself.

The qualifying scores

Scores are out of 720. The percentile cut-offs are the ones set by the National Medical Commission; NBEMS has converted them into marks:

• General and EWS: 50th percentile — 262 marks.
• General PwBD: 45th percentile — 244 marks.
• SC, ST and OBC (including PwBD in these categories): 40th percentile — 226 marks.

Clearing the cut-off makes you eligible for counselling. It does not mean a seat — that depends on your rank against the seats on offer in your category and state.

The shape of the result

• 2,63,544 candidates sat the main exam on 30 August, and 2,416 more took the re-exam at Jaipur on 5 September — 2,65,960 in all.
• The highest score is 641. The mean is 274.4 and the median 262 — which is why the general cut-off lands exactly there.
• 114 candidates scored 600 or more; 12,111 scored 500 or more.

What comes next

• Individual scorecards, answer keys and response sheets: on or after 1 October 2026. Download the scorecard promptly — it stays online for six months from issue.
• Counselling: the Medical Counselling Committee runs the all-India and deemed-university rounds; its schedule has not been published yet. Keep your documents — MBBS degree, internship completion, registration — ready and scanned.

This is the second cycle in which NBEMS publishes an answer key, following the Supreme Court's 2025 direction. When it goes up, check your response sheet against it rather than relying on a coaching institute's estimate of your score.
