CSEETCompany Secretary Executive Entrance Test (ICSI)
About CSEET
The CSEET is the single national entrance to the Company Secretary course, introduced by ICSI in 2020 to replace the old CS Foundation Programme. It is a 120-minute, 200-mark computer-based test of four 50-mark parts — business communication, legal aptitude and logical reasoning, economic and business environment, and current affairs with presentation and communication skills — with no negative marking. Recent sessions have been conducted in remote-proctored mode from candidates’ own laptops/desktops under ICSI’s monitoring rules; the institute notifies the delivery mode with each session, so candidates should confirm it on icsi.edu when registering.
Eligibility is deliberately wide: students who have passed — or are currently appearing in — Class 12 can take the test, and it runs four times a year, so most aspirants can attempt it within weeks of deciding on the CS path. Qualifying requires 40% in each paper and a 50% aggregate. Candidates who have already cleared the ICAI (CA) Final or ICMAI (CMA) Final are exempt from CSEET and may register directly for the Executive Programme; ICSI has from time to time also notified direct-registration provisions for graduates and postgraduates, so the current exemption list is worth checking before registering.
Accepted by: ICSI — qualifying CSEET (40% per paper and 50% aggregate) allows registration to the CS Executive Programme
