About ICAR AIEEA (UG)

What students still call "ICAR AIEEA UG" is, in current practice, admission through CUET (ICAR-UG). ICAR previously ran its own standalone AIEEA (UG) entrance for undergraduate agriculture seats, but from 2023 the Council shifted UG admission for its All-India Quota to the CUET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency. There is no separate ICAR-run UG test and no direct-nomination route for these seats — a valid CUET-UG score in the required domain subjects is mandatory.

Through this route ICAR fills an All-India Quota (indicatively around 20%) of seats in participating State Agricultural Universities and all the seats in its Central and Deemed universities (such as IARI, NDRI and their campuses), for four-year programmes in agriculture and allied sciences — B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture and Horticulture, B.F.Sc Fisheries, and allied B.Tech courses in agricultural engineering, dairy and food technology. Veterinary science (BVSc & AH) is excluded from this route and admits via NEET-UG instead.

Because the exam is the standard CUET-UG, candidates prepare NCERT Class 11–12 syllabi in the domain subjects relevant to their target programme (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Agriculture where offered), sit CUET-UG, and then register on ICAR's counselling portal, where seat allotment follows merit, category reservation and choice-filling. Students should always confirm the exact required domain subjects and the current quota split in the official CUET (ICAR-UG) Information Bulletin for the admission year.

Accepted by: ICAR All-India Quota seats (indicatively around 20%) across participating State Agricultural Universities plus 100% of seats in ICAR Central and Deemed universities, for B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture, Horticulture, B.F.Sc and allied B.Tech programmes (veterinary excluded)
