GUJCET 2027
Dates not announced yet. The exam body had not published GUJCET 2027 dates when we last checked (23 Oct 2026). Watch the official website.
GUJCET is the entrance test that the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board holds for Std 12 Science students who want a degree engineering or a degree or diploma pharmacy seat in Gujarat. A state government resolution of 19 November 2016 (PRCH-102012-142-S) made it compulsory for these courses from 2017. It is a one-day, pen-and-paper test: Physics and Chemistry share one 80-question paper, then Mathematics and Biology are separate 40-question papers, each question carrying one mark with a quarter mark lost for a wrong answer. GUJCET 2026 was held on Sunday, 29 March 2026. The board's result booklet shows 1,36,071 students registered (58,507 in Group A, 77,182 in Group B and 382 in Group AB) and 1,32,319 appeared; results came on 4 May 2026, the same morning as the Std 12 Science result.
GUJCET alone does not decide your rank. ACPC builds its merit list from two halves: 50% weightage for your Class 12 board theory percentile in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or Biology for eligible branches), and 50% for your GUJCET percentile in the same subjects, as stated in its 2026-27 admission advertisements of 31 March and 4 April 2026. A weak board result therefore pulls down a strong GUJCET score, and the other way round. Under the 2024 amendment to the engineering admission rules, students who improve their board marks through the board's improvement exam are placed again in a revised merit list for later rounds. ACPC's own online registration is separate from the GUJCET form, costs ₹350 and can be completed before results; for 2026-27 it ran from 30 March to 31 May 2026 for engineering and from 6 April to 15 June 2026 for pharmacy.
As of 23 October 2026 GSEB has not announced the GUJCET 2027 date, form window or fee. For reference, the 2026 cycle went like this: the exam date was announced on 8 November 2025, forms ran on gujcet.gseb.org from 16 December 2025 (fee ₹350) and were extended to 6 January 2026, then to 16 January 2026 with a ₹1,000 late fee; hall tickets opened on 17 March 2026; the provisional answer key came on 4 April 2026 with objections by email at ₹500 a question; and copies of OMR sheets could be requested after the result for ₹200 each. The 2027 dates become official only when a GSEB press note appears on gseb.org; last year that note came in early November.
Students who have passed Std 12 Science, or are appearing for it in the same year, in Group A (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), Group B (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or Group AB (all four). The GUJCET 2026 information booklet (December 2025) lets in GSEB students, CBSE and CISCE students of recognised schools in Gujarat, children of Gujarat-origin Central or State government, defence or public-sector employees who study in the state where the parent is posted, and anyone else eligible under the ACPC admission rules. The score counts only for that year's admission, so a student who wants a seat the following year must sit GUJCET again. The booklet mentions no age limit. For ACPC degree engineering admission in 2026-27 you also needed at least 45% (40% for reserved categories) in the Class 12 subjects prescribed by AICTE; for pharmacy, a Class 12 pass in Group A or B with English, as notified by PCI.

120 for Group A or Group B (80 in Physics and Chemistry, 40 in Mathematics or Biology); 160 for Group AB questions, 120 for Group A or Group B; 160 for Group AB (1 mark per question) marks, 3 hr. Sections: Physics (40 questions): 40 marks, in one combined paper with Chemistry, 120 minutes for both; Chemistry (40 questions): 40 marks, same combined paper and one OMR sheet of 80 answers; Mathematics (40 questions): 40 marks, separate 60-minute paper for Group A and AB; Biology (40 questions): 40 marks, separate 60-minute paper for Group B and AB.
+1 for a correct answer, -0.25 for a wrong answer, as set out in the GUJCET 2026 information booklet. Marking two or more options on one question also draws negative marking, and a question left blank scores zero.
ACPC Gujarat (Admission Committee for Professional Courses) for degree engineering (B.E./B.Tech) and degree and diploma pharmacy (B.Pharm, D.Pharm). In 2026-27 the GUJCET-based merit list filled 95% of seats in government and grant-in-aid institutes and 50% of seats in unaided (self-financed) institutes, for students from schools in Gujarat. The other 5% of government and grant-in-aid seats went on JEE Main rank for engineering and on NEET or JEE Main rank for pharmacy.
