Want out of your Gujarat MBBS or BDS seat before round 3? The window shuts at noon on 26 September

Gujarat's Admission Committee for Professional UG Medical Educational Courses has announced that admitted candidates can cancel their MBBS or BDS admission between 10 am on 24 September and 12 noon on 26 September 2026.

How it works

• Cancellation is in person. You must go to the help centre where you reported for admission and complete the process there.
• There is no online route in the notice. Missing the noon deadline on Friday means you cannot cancel in this window.

Why someone would cancel now

This window sits just before the state's round 3, which begins on 28 September. It exists mainly for students who have taken a Gujarat seat but have something better elsewhere — an all-India quota seat through MCC, a seat in another state, or a decision to drop and re-attempt.

What it costs

Read this part carefully. After round 2, the committee published a list headed "candidates whose Refundable Security Deposit is forfeited and removed from the Merit list due to Cancel Admission in Round-02". Cancelling was not free then, and you should assume it is not free now: in that list, cancellation meant losing the deposit and leaving the state merit list.

So the decision is not "is the other seat better?" but "is the other seat better, secured, and worth the deposit?" Do not cancel on the strength of an expected allotment. Cancel once the other seat is actually yours.

Nothing to do. If you are joining round 3 for an upgrade, the state's instructions for all four rounds and the round-3 schedule are on the committee's notice board; the last date to join a seat in the state process is 14 October.
