The all-India round 3 has 159 seats in Gujarat — and 89 of them are at one deemed university
Of the MBBS and BDS seats in Gujarat on MCC’s round-3 clear vacancy list, 145 are MBBS and 14 BDS. SBKS Medical Institute at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth accounts for 89, mostly Jain minority and NRI quota. AIIMS Rajkot has eight open seats.
Gujarat students tend to watch the state committee and ignore the all-India lists. This round, the all-India list is worth reading: MCC's round-3 clear vacancy list carries 159 seats in Gujarat — 145 MBBS and 14 BDS.
Where they are
- SBKS Medical Institute & Research Centre, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth (Piparia, Waghodia, Vadodara) — 89 MBBS: 42 in the Jain minority quota, 37 in the NRI quota and 10 self-financed merit seats. Its sister K M Shah Dental College has BDS seats on the list too.
- AIIMS Rajkot — 8 MBBS in the open seat quota, across the general, EWS, OBC and SC categories.
- Government medical colleges — single-digit all-India quota vacancies at Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Porbandar, Navsari, Rajpipla, Morbi and Godhra, including a handful of PwBD seats.
What this means for you
An AIIMS Rajkot seat or a government college's all-India quota seat can only be reached through MCC — not through Gujarat's own counselling. If your NEET rank is near last round's closing ranks for these colleges, registering for MCC round 3 is the only way to be considered.
The deemed-university seats are a different proposition. Minority and NRI quotas carry their own eligibility conditions and documentation, and deemed-university fees are set by the institution. Read the fee schedule before you put these seats on your list — a seat you cannot pay for is worse than no seat, because walking away after allotment can cost you your security deposit.
The dates
MCC round-3 registration closes at 3 pm on 27 September, choices lock at noon on 28 September, the result is on 30 September and reporting runs 1–9 October. Gujarat's own state-quota round 3 opens on 28 September — the two run side by side.
