Rashtriya Military Schools entrance: the late window runs 21 to 25 October with a ₹500 late fee, and the test is on 13 December
NTA has opened a late application window for the Rashtriya Military Schools Common Entrance Test 2026 for Class VI and Class IX. You can apply from 21 October to 5 pm on 25 October 2026 by paying a ₹500 late fee on top of the normal fee. The written test is on 13 December.

The regular window for the Rashtriya Military Schools Common Entrance Test (RMS CET) 2026 closed on 20 October 2026, but the National Testing Agency's information bulletin gives one more window. You can submit the form from 21 October 2026 to 5 pm on 25 October 2026 if you pay a late fee of ₹500. The late fee can be paid until 11.50 pm on 25 October. The entrance test is on 13 December 2026, a Sunday.

We reported the original dates in our earlier story on the RMS entrance. The late window is in the bulletin NTA published on its RMS CET page.

Class IX has English (50), Hindi (20) and Social Science (30) in one paper, and Mathematics (50) and Science (50) in another. The interview carries 20 marks for Class VI and 50 for Class IX. The bulletin says there is no negative marking.
The five Rashtriya Military Schools are at Chail, Ajmer, Dholpur, Belgaum and Bengaluru. Seats are split by category: 70 per cent for serving and retired JCOs and other ranks, 20 per cent for officers, and 10 per cent for civilians. Reservation for OBC (NCL), SC and ST applies within each category.
For families in Gujarat
Ahmedabad is listed as an examination city for Gujarat. If a child clears the written test, the medical examination can be taken at the Military Hospital in Ahmedabad, which is on the list of hospitals you can choose while registering.
What to do now
- Finish all three steps on the NTA portal, registration, form and fee, before 5 pm on 25 October. A form without a paid fee is rejected.
- Check the name, date of birth, category and class carefully. NTA does not change them later, and the only correction chance is 27 and 28 October.
- Keep the confirmation page.
