Relaxation for Women and Persons with Disabilities:Women candidates and those with more than 40% disability may get a 2-year relaxation in the Ph.D. maximum duration.Women candidates may also receive Maternity/Child Care Leave for up to 240 days during their Ph.D.Leave for Student Exchanges:Leave is allowed from the second year onwards if it contributes significantly to the thesis completion.Research expeditions (less than one month): Approved by the supervisor and head of the department.Research missions (more than one month): Proposed by the department and approved by the Research Advisory Committee for work in National/International research labs or Centres of Excellence.Exchange programmes: Proposed by the department and approved by the Research Advisory Committee for work in institutions in India or abroad.
