FMGE October 2026: fix a rejected photo or signature by 19 October; the exam is on 31 October

Applicants for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), October 2026, should check their NBEMS login now. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences is scrutinising every uploaded image, and candidates whose photograph, signature or thumb impression was flagged can replace it in a selective edit window from 3 to 19 October 2026.

How the image window works

  • NBEMS tells affected candidates by email and on the applicant dashboard, under an "Image Scrutiny" tab. Each image shows its own status.
  • A replacement image is checked again. If it still fails the guidelines, it can be rejected again, and you must re-upload within the same window. This can happen more than once, so do not leave it to 19 October.
  • The bulletin says no further chance will be given after the window closes. Images that still do not comply lead to the application being rejected.

Documents are a separate deadline

Missing or faulty documents are fixed through NBEMS's deficient-document portal, which closes at 11:55 pm on 21 October. They include proof of the primary medical qualification, its attestation by the Indian embassy or an apostille, the Eligibility Certificate or admission letter, and proof of citizenship. Candidates who do not fix these will not be allowed to sit the exam.

The Eligibility Certificate is issued by the National Medical Commission. Its reopened application window ran until 6 pm on 7 October.

Three sessions a year now

The bulletin confirms a change for foreign graduates: NBEMS will now hold the FMGE three times a year. The June 2026 session was held on 28 June, and October's is the next one. The fee for this session is ₹4,650 including GST.
