GPSC port and marine posts: upload your documents between 16 and 25 October or lose your candidature
GPSC has told applicants for nine Gujarat Maritime Board advertisements, from marine engineer and pilot officer to naval architect, to upload their experience, caste and income certificates on its gpsc-iass portal between 1 pm on 16 October and 11:59 pm on 25 October. Anyone who misses it is out before the 13 December preliminary.

If you applied in September for one of the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) posts at the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB), there is now a step before the exam. In notices dated 15 October 2026, GPSC has asked applicants to upload their supporting documents on gpsc-iass.gujarat.gov.in from 1 pm on 16 October to 11:59 pm on 25 October 2026. If you do not upload them in time, GPSC says it will cancel your candidature. Documents sent any other way do not count, and those candidates are treated as ineligible.

GPSC calls this step a special case. These posts turn on years of sea time or port experience, and that experience is now being checked before the preliminary exam. Each applicant has also been sent a letter and email listing what to upload.

The preliminary exam for all of them is on 13 December 2026, according to GPSC’s consolidated exam programme dated 14 October.
What to upload
- Experience certificates that show every job relevant to the post, from the start date, with pay, and with the nature of the duties. Private-sector candidates must use GPSC’s prescribed experience format. Government employees need the certificate from their office plus a no-objection certificate (NOC).
- For experience in the private sector, also upload the salary bank statement for that period and either Form 16 (Parts A and B) or income tax returns.
- For engineering posts, the certificate of competency the advertisement asks for. For example, the Marine Engineer post needs a Marine Engineer Officer Class 1 certificate under the Merchant Shipping Act, 2025, plus at least five years’ experience after the first certificate.
- SC, ST, SEBC and EWS candidates: a caste certificate issued by 25 October 2026. The SEBC non-creamy-layer certificate must be dated between 1 April 2024 and 25 October 2026, and the EWS certificate between 26 October 2023 and 25 October 2026. Married women must give the SEBC certificate based on their parents’ income. One based on the husband’s income is not accepted.
What to do
- Log in to gpsc-iass.gujarat.gov.in after 1 pm on Friday, 16 October.
- Match every experience entry in your application to a certificate. Gaps or mismatched dates are where these applications fail.
- Finish the upload well before 11:59 pm on Sunday, 25 October.
