Gujarat MBBS round 3 starts 28 September — and the last date to join is 14 October

Gujarat's third round of state-quota medical and dental admissions runs from 28 September to 9 October, with the last date of joining set at 14 October and verification of joined candidates' data by the state authority on 15 October. The academic session for the 2026-27 MBBS and BDS batch already began on 15 September, which is why the remaining rounds are compressed.

The rest of the calendar

• Round 3 (state quota): 28 September to 9 October. Last date of joining: 14 October.
• Round 4, the stray vacancy round (state quota): 17 to 21 October.
• Last date of joining for the stray round: 26 October — the hard stop for the whole 2026-27 medical admission season.

Note how little slack there is. If a stray-round seat is allotted on 21 October, a candidate may have five days to reach the college, pay and join. Plan travel and money before the allotment, not after it.

The rule that is catching people out: originals only

The admission committee has stated plainly that from the second round of counselling onwards, document verification at the help centre is carried out only against original documents. Attested photocopies, scans on a phone and "the original is with my previous college" are not workable positions. If your originals are held by an institution you joined in an earlier round, retrieve them — or use the committee's authority-letter route — before your reporting date, not on it.

NRI quota

Candidates who applied under the NRI quota with the required documents and who meet the NEET UG 2026 cut-off are still being verified. The committee has said the NRI category merit list will be declared in due course, so an NRI applicant should keep checking the portal rather than assume they have been left out.

One more thing worth knowing

All 100% of seats at every medical and dental undergraduate college in Gujarat — government quota, management quota and NRI quota alike — are filled on merit through this committee and no one else. Any offer of a seat outside this process is not an admission.
