Karnataka PGCET mock allotment is out: rework your options by 11 am on 22 September

The mock allotment for Karnataka's postgraduate common entrance test counselling is live. It covers MBA, MCA and M.Tech admissions, and it is exactly what the name says — a rehearsal. No college will admit anyone on the strength of it.

The deadline that matters

Option entry stays open until 11:00 am on 22 September. Until then you can add colleges, delete them, or change their order. After it closes, the authority runs the real allotment on the list as it stands, and its own advisory is blunt: candidates who do not revise in time may not get the same seat in the real round.

How to read a mock result properly

• Got a seat you like? Do not relax. A mock allotment is computed on the options everyone entered so far; the field changes before the real round.
• Got a seat you do not want? Move it below the ones you do. Order is the whole mechanism — the software walks your list top down and stops at the first seat your rank can reach.
• Got nothing? Your list is too short or too ambitious. Add realistic options now, because an empty list in the real round means no seat at all.
• Check the cut-offs. College-wise, course-wise and category-wise closing ranks are published alongside the mock result — that is the honest measure of whether your first five choices are reachable.

Practical notes

Log in at the authority's counselling portal with your CET number and date of birth. Option registration carries a non-refundable fee of ₹750. Verify college addresses before you submit: several institutions in the list have near-identical names and different campuses, and a mis-clicked address is a seat in another city.
