What is on offer
Round 3 covers the 15% All India Quota seats and 100% of the seats at deemed universities, central universities, AFMC, AIIMS and JIPMER, for MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing. Note how much of that is the high-fee deemed-university pool: read the fee and bond terms of a deemed-university seat before you put it above a state government college in your preference order.
The timeline is deliberately tight
MCC has told participating institutions to treat Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays as working days for this round. Do not assume a college office will be shut over a weekend during the reporting window, and equally, do not assume you have a spare weekend to travel in. The reporting window is nine days for a country-wide allotment — book travel the day the result comes out, not the day after.
Two things candidates get wrong every year
Choice locking has its own window, separate from choice filling, and it closes at noon on 28 September — a morning deadline, not an end-of-day one. And a seat accepted in round 3 carries consequences for your eligibility in later stray-vacancy rounds; read the round-3 conditions on the counselling portal before you confirm, because the rules on resignation and forfeiture tighten as the rounds progress.
