Round 2 of the all-India NEET UG counselling has been allotted. The result sits on mcc.nic.in as an open PDF — no login required. Open the UG counselling section, download the round 2 allotment list, and search the file for your roll number.
The two dates that decide whether you keep the seat
- 12-18 September — report in person to the allotted college with your documents.
- 19 September — verification of the candidates who have joined.
Candidates lose seats to the reporting window far more often than to the cutoff. An allotment you do not report against is forfeited, and in most all-India cycles forfeiting also costs you your security deposit and your standing in later rounds. The allotment date is the news; the reporting deadline is the deadline.
659 seats were added before this round
The seat matrix grew by 659 places across MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing before round 2 ran, spread over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Gujarat, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand — among them fresh MBBS seats at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences in Arunachal Pradesh and at Bongaigaon Medical College in Assam.
This matters more than it sounds. Seats that enter the matrix late have no round 1 cutoff of their own and are unfamiliar to most candidates, so they routinely close at a softer rank than comparable colleges. If you are weighing whether to hold what you have or push for an upgrade, the newly added colleges are where the queue is shortest.
If you are in a state queue as well
The all-India quota is only part of your chances. State counselling runs on its own calendar — Tamil Nadu’s round 2 result was due by 15 September, Maharashtra’s allotment was set for 12 September, and Gujarat’s second-round choice filling closed on 11 September. Before you accept anything in one stream, read the other’s withdrawal rules: in most systems, accepting a fresh allotment automatically cancels the seat you were already holding, and there is no route back.
