CareerBox Pathways

Public Health, Epidemiology & Community Health

A specialized, narrow career pathway within healthcare, rehabilitation and life-science adjacent pathways — distinct from the broader stream hubs, worth exploring on its own.

What this pathway covers

A non-clinical health pathway focused on disease prevention, population health, sanitation, vaccination systems, health policy, surveillance, health data, and programme implementation. It is different from MBBS because the student is not necessarily training to become a doctor; the work is at community, district, NGO, hospital-system, or government-program level.

Common courses & credentials

BPH, BSc Public Health, MPH, MSc Epidemiology, MSc Health Informatics, PG Diploma in Public Health Management, certificate programmes in health systems, field epidemiology, biostatistics, and monitoring/evaluation.

Typical admission / exam route

Usually university entrance, CUET where accepted, state/university PG entrance, institute-level admission, or direct merit. Medical graduates, dental graduates, nursing graduates, physiotherapy graduates, pharmacy graduates and life-science graduates may all enter at PG level depending on rules.
