Digital Gujarat scholarship 2026-27: last date, eligibility, income limits, documents and how to apply
SC forms for 2026-27 are reopened until 31 October 2026 and ST forms are open until 30 November 2026. Which portal is official, income limits and amounts for SC, ST and OBC students, documents, renewal and status check.

"Digital Gujarat scholarship" is the name students use for a set of post-matric (પોસ્ટ મેટ્રિક શિષ્યવૃત્તિ) schemes that three Gujarat directorates run online: Scheduled Castes Welfare (અનુસૂચિત જાતિ કલ્યાણ), Developing Castes Welfare (વિકસતી જાતિ કલ્યાણ) for SEBC, OBC and NT-DNT students, and Tribal Development (આદિજાતિ વિકાસ) for ST students. This guide is built from their 2026-27 guidelines and the notices on the Digital Gujarat and GSSP websites, as of 16 October 2026.
Key takeaways
- Two official addresses: digitalgujarat.gov.in and gssp.gujarat.gov.in are both Government of Gujarat portals. A Digital Gujarat update of 17 August 2026 points students to GSSP if scholarship services fail there.
- SC 2026-27: first window 6 July to 30 September 2026, reopened for remaining students from 1 to 31 October 2026.
- ST 2026-27: 1 September to 30 November 2026. ST students who missed 2025-26 can apply from 1 to 20 October 2026.
- SEBC/OBC 2026-27: 6 July to 30 September 2026. No reopening notice was posted as of 16 October 2026.
- New for SC boys: a state scheme (BCK-5A) for families earning ₹2.50 lakh to ₹6 lakh is in the 2026-27 SC guideline, not the 2025-26 one.
- Payment: only into an Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account. One application per Aadhaar number.
- Paper step: print the submitted form and hand it, with documents, to your college.

Digital Gujarat scholarship 2026-27 last date
| Who | Academic year | Window | Status on 16 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| SC students | 2026-27 | 6 July to 30 September 2026; reopened 1 to 31 October 2026 | Open |
| ST students | 2026-27 | 1 September to 30 November 2026 | Open |
| ST students who missed last year | 2025-26 | 1 to 20 October 2026 | Open |
| SEBC, OBC, EBC and NT-DNT students | 2026-27 | 6 July to 30 September 2026 | Closed; no reopening notice |
The SC and SEBC dates are from each directorate's 2026-27 guideline; the reopening and ST dates are from the GSSP notice board and the Digital Gujarat Latest Update page. Both guidelines ask students not to wait for the last day.
Digital Gujarat or GSSP: which portal is official?
Both. Digital Gujarat is the state's citizen-services portal, and its "Scholarship Services" menu now opens the Gujarat State Scholarship Portal (GSSP), a Government of Gujarat platform for scholarship schemes.
The SC and SEBC guidelines for 2026-27 still say digitalgujarat.gov.in; the ST guideline for 2026-27 names gssp.gujarat.gov.in (its 2025-26 version named Digital Gujarat). The GSSP login page says students log in with their mobile number as before, and the SC and SEBC guidelines say students registered in earlier years need not register again.
Watch out for look-alikes. Search results also show private ".com" sites dressed up as scholarship portals. None of the government pages we checked links to them. Enter your Aadhaar, bank details and password only on an address ending in gujarat.gov.in.
Who is eligible: income limits by category
These schemes are for Class 11 and above, and each directorate's schemes are only for its own category.

SC students (Director, Scheduled Castes Welfare)
| Scheme | Family income | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Post-matric, GOI (BCK-6.1) | Up to ₹2.50 lakh | Academic allowance and approved fee |
| Post-matric, SC girls (BCK-5) | Above ₹2.50 lakh, no upper limit | Academic allowance and approved fee |
| Post-matric, SC boys (BCK-5A) | ₹2.50 lakh to ₹6 lakh | Academic allowance and approved fee |
| Food bill, college hostel (BCK-10) | Up to ₹6 lakh | ₹1,500 a month for 10 months |
| First-year instruments (BCK-12) | Up to ₹6 lakh | ₹15,000 medical, ₹10,000 engineering, ₹5,000 diploma |
| ITI stipend (BCK-13) | Up to ₹6 lakh | ₹400 a month |
| Class 11-12 science tuition (BCK-7) | Up to ₹6 lakh | ₹15,000 a year; needs 70% in Class 10 |
Under BCK-6.1 the state pays 40% and the Centre 60%, straight into the student's Aadhaar-linked account. M.Phil and PhD students can claim ₹25,000 or ₹1,00,000 on thesis submission (BCK-11).
ST students (Director, Tribal Development)
The ST guideline lists the central Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Students, Post-Matric Scholarship (family income below ₹2.50 lakh, maintenance allowance plus tuition fee), a scheme for ST girls above ₹2.50 lakh (VKY-156) and a state scheme for ST boys at ₹2.50 lakh to ₹6 lakh (VKY-8). Below ₹6 lakh, there is also food bill help of ₹1,500 a month for 10 months in college-attached hostels (VKY-157) and first-year instrument help of ₹15,000, ₹10,000 or ₹5,000 (VKY-164).
SEBC, OBC, EBC and NT-DNT students (Director, Developing Castes Welfare)
The central PM YASASVI Post Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC and DNT students has a ₹2.50 lakh income limit and pays by course group, per the SEBC guideline:
| Course group | Academic allowance | Tuition fee (up to) | Total a year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group A | ₹10,000 | ₹10,000, or the fee paid if lower | ₹20,000 |
| Group B | ₹8,000 | ₹5,000, or the fee paid if lower | ₹13,000 |
| Group C | ₹6,000 | ₹2,000, or the fee paid if lower | ₹8,000 |
| Group D | ₹5,000 | Nil | ₹5,000 |
Groups A to C cover colleges; Group D covers government and grant-in-aid higher secondary schools. Above ₹2.50 lakh, SEBC and NT-DNT students can use the state scheme BCK-78 (girls: no income limit; boys: up to ₹6 lakh) in government and grant-in-aid institutions only: from ₹5,000 a year for a Group A hosteller to ₹1,500 for a Group D day scholar.
The guideline also lists food bill help of ₹15,000 a year for medical and engineering students (BCK-79), up to ₹50,000 for NT-DNT students in self-financed colleges with family income up to ₹2 lakh (BCK-325), and ₹4,800 a year under the Swami Vivekanand scheme for SEBC, economically backward class (આ.પ.વ.), minority and NT-DNT students in government ITIs.
Documents required for Digital Gujarat scholarship
The SC and SEBC guidelines ask you to scan the originals and keep these ready:
- Caste certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Parent's income certificate from the competent authority (plus Form 16 if a parent is a government employee; death certificate or divorce order where relevant).
- Year-wise final mark sheets from Class 10 onwards.
- First page of your bank passbook, or a cancelled cheque, showing account number, IFSC and branch.
- An affidavit if you had a gap after Class 10, stating you took no course and no scholarship in that period.
- Hosteller certificate (format on the portal) signed by the hostel authority, if you live in a hostel.
- Fee receipt (not for freeship card holders), photo, Aadhaar number, and a disability or marriage certificate if relevant. SC students also give their ration card number.
The central SC and ST schemes also need an NSP One Time Registration (OTR) number from the National Scholarship Portal. SC students under BCK-6.1 can submit only when their Aadhaar-based biometric eKYC shows "Yes"; get it done via the My Ration app, the mamlatdar office, the VCE at your gram panchayat or your school principal.
Short of a certificate? A Social Justice and Empowerment Department notification of 30 April 2026 sets 7 days, after sufficient documents are received, for issuing SC and SEBC caste certificates, non-creamy layer, EWS income and assets, NT-DNT, unreserved-class and minority certificates.
How to apply for Digital Gujarat scholarship 2026-27
- Open digitalgujarat.gov.in (or gssp.gujarat.gov.in) and choose Login/Register > Citizen Login. New users click New Registration (Citizen) with their own mobile number and email ID; returning students use their old login.
- Go to Services > Scholarship Services, the only route the guidelines allow.
- Click Request a New Service and select the year 2026-27.
- Schemes open for applications show in green; closed ones show in red. Pick the one you qualify for and click Continue to Service.
- Fill Registration, Bank, Academic and Disability details, then upload your documents and a recent passport-size photo.
- Click Verify Mobile Number, enter the OTP, then Confirm & Final Submit. The form goes to your institution's login.
- Print the submitted form and hand it, with self-attested copies of the uploads, to your school or college.

Gujarat students at recognised institutions outside the state also apply online, then send document copies to their home district's welfare office.
Renewal for students who got the scholarship in 2025-26
The SC and SEBC guidelines say that if you applied in 2025-26 and received the scholarship as per the rules, your 2026-27 application is placed in Renewal mode automatically. Click Renewal, check every section, upload the required documents and send it online. If you do not see it in Renewal mode, file a fresh application through Request a New Service.
How to check Digital Gujarat scholarship status
Log in, open Services > Scholarship Services and pick the year; your applications from 2017-18 onwards show up there. If your college returns the form, correct and resend it. If the college has not acted yet, Withdraw lets you pull it back and fix it. Passwords must be changed every 90 days, so use "Forgot Password?" if a login fails. Helpline: 1800 233 5500.
Why scholarship forms get stuck or rejected
The 2026-27 guidelines warn about these:
- The form was not final-submitted, or the printout with documents never reached the institution.
- The bank account is dormant, frozen, lacks KYC or is not seeded with Aadhaar, or its number was entered wrongly.
- A wrong institute or course was selected, so the form went to another college.
- False or hidden information, which can get a student blacklisted. Duplicate applications are not allowed.
- Applying under the wrong scheme: the SEBC guideline says the difference will not be paid later.
- A freeship card holder missing the deadline loses the benefit despite the card. SC freeship students must pay the fee to the college within 7 days of the money arriving.
MYSY, NSP and other Gujarat scholarships
MYSY (Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana) is a separate state scheme and is not part of these post-matric guidelines. Read our MYSY scholarship 2026-27 guide. Central scholarships filed on the National Scholarship Portal are in our NSP scholarship 2026-27 guide. General (unreserved) category students are not covered by these three directorates: the Gujarat Unreserved Educational and Economic Development Corporation lists its own help, such as ₹15,000 a year for Class 11-12 science students with 70% in Class 10.
