MYSY scholarship 2026-27 last date and important dates

The portal says no application is accepted after these dates, and the 2026-27 instructions say no complaint is heard after the last date either.

Who is eligible for the MYSY scholarship?

A fresh applicant (first year of the course) needs both merit and income.

Merit, per the 2016 GR and the 2026-27 instructions:

• Diploma after Class 10: 80 percentile or more in Class 10.
• Degree after Class 12: 80 percentile or more overall in Class 12 Science or General. Science students with 80 percentile in PCM or PCB theory also qualify.
• D2D: 65% or more in the diploma exam, joining the first or second year of a degree. The portal FAQ puts this as CGPA 7 or more.
• MBBS: NEET admission is enough. Other medical, dental and paramedical courses still need 80 percentile in Class 12.

Income: up to ₹6 lakh a year. A 2019 GR allows up to ₹11 lakh when a normally eligible family crosses ₹6 lakh only through one-off receipts such as a property sale, pay arrears, PPF interest, gratuity or provident fund.

The Gujarat rule: the 2015 GR and 2016 GR ask for Class 10 or 12 passed from Gujarat, through GSEB or another recognised board. The portal FAQ adds that such a student can get MYSY even while studying in another state.

No percentile on your marksheet? Under the 28 October 2022 GR, your marks are compared with the marks at 80 percentile in that year's GSEB or your own board exam.

Not covered: NRI seats; tuition help on tuition fee waiver (TFW) seats; postgraduate courses; years four and five of five-year integrated courses. Missed your first year? The FAQ lets you apply later under "Delayed".

How much does MYSY pay? Tuition, hostel and book help

Tuition: an engineering student paying ₹80,000 gets ₹40,000; one paying ₹1,40,000 gets the ₹50,000 cap. The 2015 GR words the grant for self-financed courses at government-recognised institutions.

Hostel: ₹1,200 a month for 10 months (₹12,000 a year), for students outside their home taluka without a government or aided hostel seat. A private hostel or a rented room with a rent agreement counts. The portal blocks this automatically if your home taluka and college taluka match.

Books: paid once, in the first year, in government and self-financed colleges. BA, BCom, BSc, BBA and BCA students do not get it.

Aid is paid once a year, not per semester.

Documents needed for MYSY 2026-27

Copies are self-attested unless marked original; formats are in Document Formats 2026-27.

Fresh:

• Aadhaar card and ration card
• Class 10 or 12 marksheet
• Admission committee letter and all tuition fee receipts
• Self-declaration (Annexure-4, original), signed by you and a parent, stating 2025-26 family income of not more than ₹6,00,000
• Parents' income certificate
• Principal's certificate on letterhead (Annexure-1 or 2, original)
• Hostel and mess receipts or a rent agreement, if claiming hostel help
• Passbook first page or cancelled cheque showing account number and IFSC

Renewal: the same identity, fee, hostel, bank and income papers, plus last year's marksheets (both semesters) and a renewal certificate from your institute head (Annexure-5 or 6, original).

Income certificate: up to ₹5 lakh, from your village Talati-cum-Mantri, the Mamlatdar or the Taluka Development Officer; above ₹5 lakh, only the Mamlatdar or TDO. It is valid for three financial years including the year of issue, so one issued on 18 September 2023 expired on 31 March 2026. No income tax return is demanded (2022 GR).

Result not out? In the final week before the last date, upload the Annexure-9 self-declaration instead, then the marksheet within 7 days of receiving it.

How to fill the MYSY form on mysy.gujarat.gov.in

1. On the portal, open Login/Register for 2026-2027 and click Student Registration. Choose Fresh for a first-year claim or Delayed if you skipped your first year. Renewal students skip registration and use Student Login.
2. On the registration page, choose your department (Technical Degree, Technical Diploma, Higher, Nursing, Agriculture or Veterinary), whether you joined after Class 10, 12 or a diploma, and your board, stream and years.
3. Enter your seat number (or diploma enrolment number), your name exactly as on the marksheet, and your own mobile and email. Click Generate OTP and enter it.
4. Log in with seat number, mobile and email. Login is OTP-only in 2026-27.
5. Fill in address, Aadhaar, ration card, bank account (yours, Aadhaar-linked), parents' income and hostel details, then Admission entry and Save. Do not pick NRI by mistake.
6. Upload documents, click Application Lock, then Print Application.
7. Within 7 days, take the receipt, originals and one photocopy set to a help centre for your course and collect the Acknowledgement Receipt. Miss the 7 days and the application is cancelled.

MYSY help centres and helpline in Gujarat

• Help centres: more than 350 across Gujarat, per the 2026-27 instructions, in separate lists by course and district. In Ahmedabad, for example, L.D. College of Engineering and Gujarat Technological University and Gujarat University are on the lists.
• Helpline: 079-26566000 and 7043333181, 10:30 am to 6 pm on working days; email [email protected].
• KCG office: Pragna Puram Campus, opposite PRL, next to L.D. College of Engineering, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad 380015. Visit before the last date if you are stuck.
• Approving offices (contacts): ACPC (technical degrees) and ACPDC (diplomas) in the Admission Building, L.D. College of Engineering campus; higher education at Dr. Jivraj Mehta Bhavan, Gandhinagar.
• Medical students who passed Class 12 before 2026-27 and cannot fill the form: the medical notice sends you to the MYSY cell at GMERS Medical College, Sector 12, Gandhinagar, Tuesday to Thursday, 3 pm to 5 pm, with your Class 12 marksheet, birth certificate and provisional admission order.

How to check MYSY status and payment

On the Student Status page, choose Fresh or Renewal and enter your standard, stream, board, passing year and seat number. KCG also sends an SMS at each stage.

If a document is pending, use Upload pending document now within 7 days and get it checked at a help centre. Three wrong uploads mean rejection.

Money goes by Direct Benefit Transfer, only to an Aadhaar-seeded account; check at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. Per the portal's Aadhaar-linking note, if payment fails you must link Aadhaar within 7 days, and payment follows around 30 days after linking.

Renewal needs 50% in last year's exam and 75% attendance. The 2022 GR adds that an ATKT must be cleared at the first attempt; two or more ATKTs in a year mean no aid that year, barring committee-approved cases such as serious illness.

Can you combine MYSY with other scholarships?

The 2015 GR allows aid under only one state or central scheme, and the 2026-27 self-declaration repeats it. A 30 September 2019 letter from the Commissioner of Higher Education says students can take only one of the National Scholarship Portal central sector scheme, MYSY and Digital Gujarat.

The FAQ states one exception: MYSY students can also apply for the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) at scholarships.gujarat.gov.in, meant for seven categories in its GR with family income of ₹4.5 lakh or less. CMSS 2026-27 dates were not announced as of 16 October 2026.

KCG's education-loan interest subsidy is linked from the MYSY homepage, but its own page says applicants must not have availed any other government scheme, so ask the helpline first.
