Students who belong to the category (SC/ST) and whose annual income of parents is less than 4.5 lakhs. Students availing of this scholarship will receive a free basic meal in the mess and a pocket allowance.
SPORTS Details
A total of 20 scholarships in this type of scholarship is provided to the students who reflect leadership in activities related to sports on the campus which in turn leads to their growth, development and increased participation in various sports activities. The amount that is allotted to candidates is Rs. 1,000/- given on a per month basis for 9 months to the students under this scheme of scholarship of IIT Kanpur. The criteria of the display in Inter-IIT and other sports that are external and meet the excellence criteria will be taken into consideration.

Donor Details
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur provides Donor Scholarships to needy and worthy students. A total of 115 scholarships are awarded for it. Students need to maintain a minimum CPI of more than 6.0 to avail the benefits of the scholarship. Later on, this criteria may be relaxed to more than 1.5 CPI for the mean calculation of students. If no one receives the donor scholarship in a particular year then the amount of such scholarship will be double the amount in the next year for that scholarship. It is assigned to applicants from 3rd year students of Under Graduation in a 4-yr or a 5-yr programme of Engineering department of Chemical on the basis of the highest CPI at the end of the initial two years.
ARPITA MAHILA MANDAL Details
It is provided to two girls who are the neediest UG girl students of any department in the institute for a 4 or 5year course that is based on central means of the MCM-Donor. At the end of 1st semester the accumulated CPI will be considered for the purpose of awarding the scholarships.
AVIATION DEVELOPMENT AWARDS
It is provided to a 3rd year UG student in a 4 or 5year programme of the AE department. Names for this scholarship are recommended by the Head of Department, AE. Total of Two awards are provided.
BIMLAVATI AND NAWAL KISHORE KAPUR Details
All those girl students who are doing under graduation in their 3rd year in a programme that is of total duration of 4 or 5 year of the CSE or the BSBE stream will be awarded the fellowship based on the criteria of the MCM-Donor.

Allotted to a girl student who is doing under graduation in any stream that is according to the criteria of the MCM-Donor.
K.N. SALUJA Details
Allotted to a student who is doing under graduation in a 4 or 5-year course department of CE based on the criteria of merit alone. A total of 8 scholarships are offered from which 2 are provided for students from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year respective batches. Based on calculation of the CPI obtained at the end of each year. Only for the students who are still in their first year of CE course their marks of the semester 1 will be taken into account for the calculation of CPI.

It is assigned to a candidate from the1st year of the UG course of the department of BSBE and later one award is provided to a student from the 2nd year UG of the department of BSBE on the basis of MCM-Donor criteria. The SPI at the beginning of the 2nd semester is to be considered.

Allotted to a student who is doing under graduation in the 2nd year of a 4 or 5-year course from CSE stream that is according to the criteria of the MCM-Donor.

The Chairperson of the committee of sports recommends the name to the SSPC of the student who has been the best sports person incoming in the 1st year of a 4 year or 5-year course.

Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarships:
The Institute gives Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarships to meritorious and needy students. Details and Criteria are given below:
An undergraduate (UG) student in the 4-year, 5-year, or 2-year M.Sc. program can receive the MCM scholarship subject to the following criteria/conditions:
1) Up to 25% of the students in a batch may be awarded the MCM scholarship. From the total number of MCM Scholarships available in each batch, 20% shall be reserved for students belonging to the SC/ST category. The SC/ST students are not to be compared with the GN/OBC students.
2) The MCM scholarships unutilized in a batch may be transferred to another batch. Similarly, the MCM scholarships unutilized in SC/ST category may be transferred to other category students.
3) A student should have a CPI of 6.5 or above to be eligible to receive a full MCM scholarship (freeship + pocket allowance). If the CPI of a student falls below 6.5 (but remains above 6.0), then the pocket allowance is withdrawn.
4) For the first-year UG students, common JEE-AIR or marks obtained will be used for awarding the MCM scholarship.
5) A student must not have had an 'F' grade(s) in one or more courses in the last two regular semesters to receive the MCM scholarship.
6) Total Family Annual Income (TFAI) of the student from all sources should be less than 6.0 lacs.
7) The student must not be getting any other scholarship either from IIT Kanpur or from any other external sources.

Inspire Scholarships:
The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India gives Scholarships for Higher Education (SHE), called INSPIRE-SHE Scholarships, to the students enrolled in undergraduate programs in natural and basic sciences all across the country in order to inspire them to become leading scientists.
The details of the INSPIRE Scholarship are provided below:
1) Students pursuing 4-Year BS and 5-Year BS-MS Dual Degree programs in natural and basic sciences AND have secured rank within top 10,000 in JEE-AIR are eligible to apply for INSPIRE Scholarship.
2) Applicants must have secured marks within top 1% of their board
3) Applicants must have secured rank within top 10,000 in JEE-AIR
4) Applicants are KVPY, NTSE, JBNSTS scholar, or International Olympiad medalist
5) As per the DST guidelines, the students pursuing BS program in Economics and B. Tech./Dual-Degree programs in Engineering are NOT eligible to receive INSPIRE Scholarship.
6) If applicants have failed in one or more courses or their CPI is below 7.0, then they are NOT eligible to receive INSPIRE scholarship.

Academic Excellence Awards
The institute has always taken pride in recognizing the achievements that are academic of its institute students in the way of many academic excellence awards. These awards are presented to those merit-based students of IIT Kanpur who have successfully secured a CPI of 8.5 and above in their respective previous academic year. Over here the CPI of the last academic year (API) is computed solely on the basis of the last academic year.No student participation is required for availing this scholarship and all the necessary formalities regarding the scholarship will be taken out by the authorities in the institute. There are also many scholarships that are provided externally by State governments, government offices, industries at large etc. Information pertaining to the same is updated from time to time by the concerned related departments. A student who is willing to apply for such external scholarships must complete the formalities for such on his own and contact the SSPC for the formalities which is an essential requirement on the part of the institute to be done. IITLC will be provided with three names and it will select the applicants who will be awarded the fellowship. It is to be noted that only those students will be eligible to take benefit of this scholarship who has not been availing any other scholarship alongside.

LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT Details
Total of 6 Students having specialization in supply chain management wherein at least 2 scholarships out of the total 6 will be provided to girl students of MBA from the department of IME. The Department Head of the IME has the authority to decide the committee that will have the power to nominate the students who will receive the scholarship. Also one company from the fellowship providing company will be also part of the committee. The criteria of eligibility is to obtain a CPI that is more than or equal to 7.0.
Class of 1968 Creative Research Proposal Prize
The best research that is creative and the proposal will be awarded the prize.4th-year students who are undergraduates and 2nd-year students who is from post-graduation of any discipline or programme will be awarded the prize.All those students who are pursuing the BTP/UGP or any undergraduate student or a group of students from the fourth year are eligible for the purpose.For the students who are postgraduate, only MSc. - Ph.D. Dual Degree/ MS(R)/ M.Tech/ M.Des./ MBA/ Ph.D. will be eligible for consideration.Only a scholarship wherein a student who has applied and is eligible for another scholarship can also avail of this particular scholarship.

Total of four such scholarships are awarded wherein one scholarship per batch is allotted of each year student from 1st year till 4th year and the 5th year students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. A committee is appointed by the SSPC and the candidate who is eligible to receive the scholarship as per the MCM Donor criteria will keep on receiving the scholarship benefits unless and until they fail to meet the criteria of the MCM Donor criteria and in such cases the scholarship will be provided to the student who came second after the student who had been provided with the scholarship.

If the CPI does not continue to be as required by the criteria of 6.5 then the student who came second at the time of awarding the scholarship will be presented with the fellowship.
