Gujarat MBBS and BDS round 3: missed reporting? You now have until 4 pm on 16 October
Gujarat’s UG medical admission committee has reopened round-3 reporting for students who did not finish their admission formalities. Pay the tuition fee by 3:30 pm on 15 October and report with original documents at a help centre by 4 pm on 16 October. The extension follows a Medical Counselling Committee notice of 14 October tied to the all-India stray vacancy round.

The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC), Gujarat has extended the round-3 reporting window for first-year MBBS and BDS. The notice went up at 9:40 pm on 14 October 2026. It gives students who were allotted a seat in round 3 but have not yet completed their admission formalities one more chance to pay the fee and hand in their original documents. Under the original schedule, fees were due by 3:30 pm on 13 October and reporting closed at 4 pm on 14 October.

The revised schedule
| Step | From | Until |
|---|---|---|
| Online payment of tuition fee | 14 October 2026 | 15 October 2026, 3:30 pm |
| Tuition fee at a designated HDFC Bank branch | 15 October 2026, 10:30 am | 15 October 2026, 3:30 pm |
| Reporting and submission of original documents at the help centre | 15 October 2026, 10 am | 16 October 2026, 4 pm |
Why the window reopened
The extension comes from a Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) notice dated 14 October 2026, addressed to every state counselling authority. MCC is acting under Supreme Court directions in the Shubhankar Patnaik contempt case (Contempt Petition (C) No. 289 of 2022 in W.P. No. 223 of 2022). Those directions say states must filter out candidates who have already joined a state seat before the all-India stray vacancy round. MCC has therefore told states to:
- finish reporting and all admission formalities for round 3 of state counselling by 5 pm on 16 October 2026, and
- upload the data of every candidate who has joined a seat up to round 3 to MCC’s data-sharing portal by 7 pm on 16 October.
Gujarat has set its own cut-off an hour earlier, at 4 pm. Once your state seat is uploaded to MCC, you will not be allotted anything in the all-India stray round. That is the point of the exercise: it stops one student from holding two seats.
Who has to act
- The committee’s round-3 reporting list names 1,442 candidates who were newly admitted or upgraded in round 3 and must report at a help centre. If your name is on it and you have not yet reported, this extension is for you.
- Pay the tuition fee, or the difference in fee if your upgraded seat costs more, then go to the help centre with your original documents.
- Offline payment counts only at the HDFC Bank branches the committee has designated. Payment at any other HDFC branch will not confirm your admission. Branches accept fees only during banking hours on working days.
- If round 3 moved you to a new college, your earlier seat is already gone. If you do not report, you lose the new seat too.
What to do now: if you were allotted or upgraded in round 3 and have not reported, pay online or at a designated branch by 3:30 pm on Thursday, 15 October. Then reach your help centre with the original documents, the fee receipt and the 11 x 15-inch envelope the committee asks for by 4 pm on Friday, 16 October. Do not wait for the last hour.
