The big one: Delhi's 140 prosecutors

  • Qualification: a law degree plus three years' experience at the bar. Experience as a government advocate is desirable, not mandatory.
  • Age limit: 35 years for unreserved and EWS candidates, 38 for OBC, 40 for SC/ST, with up to 10 more years for persons with benchmark disabilities. Contractual employees of the department get a one-time relaxation of up to five years, subject to conditions.
  • Reservation: UR 50, EWS 14, OBC 37, SC 30, ST 9, with 8 of the posts reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities.
  • OBC trap: UPSC clarified in September that OBC reservation for this post goes only to candidates holding an OBC certificate issued by the Delhi government for a caste on Delhi's OBC list. An OBC certificate from another state is treated as unreserved.

The medical posts

The 60 General Medicine posts (UR 13, EWS 10, OBC 30, SC 5, ST 2, with 3 reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities) need an MBBS, a postgraduate degree in medicine (MD, or DNB in Medicine/General Medicine), and at least three years' teaching experience after that degree. The upper age is 40 for unreserved and EWS candidates, 43 for OBC and 45 for SC/ST. The 4 Anatomy posts (UR 1, EWS 1, SC 2) cap age at 40 for UR/EWS and 45 for SC; read the post-specific qualification in the PDF.

Fee and how to apply

  • Apply at upsconline.nic.in. First-timers create a Universal Registration Number, fill the Common Application Form, then the post-specific form.
  • The fee is ₹25. Women, SC, ST and persons with benchmark disabilities pay nothing; OBC, EWS and unreserved men do.
  • Applications without the fee are rejected, and the fee is not refunded.
