Scholarship Criteria:
Merit: This will always play an important role in scholarship decisions. Top students in any of the schools will be eligible for scholarship consideration although the exact scholarship amount and numbers may depend on the academic school or department. Students will need to provide proof of academic and scholarly accomplishments to be eligible for the scholarship. The percentile of students receiving the scholarship will depend upon the school and area of specialization.
Socially Backward Communities: The University is committed to affirmative action for such backward groups as, OBC, SC/ST, and other such groups approved by the Government of India. A certain percentage of such groups will always receive scholarships each year.

Special Disadvantaged Groups: These groups include women, those with disabilities, etc. These groups will not be treated with any discrimination and will be afforded an equal opportunity to scholarship opportunities.
Scholarship Schemes: University has put in place several scholarship schemes including tuition/fee waiver (partial or full), stipends to cover living expenses and/or health benefits expenses, etc. The amounts depend on the scheme, the academic program, location, etc
Scholarship Application Process: The students should contact the departmental office and submit an application in the appropriate form. The department will provide the list of scholarship schemes available. The student is responsible for submitting all suitable documentation based on the scheme. Such documentation includes proof of merit, recommendation letters for merit scholarships, Government approved proofs for members of Backward communities and any other necessary documentation for special disadvantaged groups.

Scholarships to Non-GATE students offered by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham:
• Students who have not written GATE exam are eligible to apply for MERIT or ENDOWMENT scholarships available in different programs • Highly motivated students are also given ample opportunities to pursue dual degree programs with universities in Europe, US and Australia • ENDOWMENT Scholarship for 10 programs - Top 40% of eligible students in each program will receive this scholarship • MERIT Scholarship valid for 25 programs - Top 30% of eligible students in each program will receive this scholarship

MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2024 - 25 Rules And Regulations For Award of Merit Scholarship Scholarship is subject to the following conditions: (i) Scholarship will be awarded as per the rules and regulations of the University. (ii) Scholarship amount will be remitted only after the results are declared for the particular academic year (both Odd and even semester) either by transfer to the bank account or by Account payee Cheque. (iii) Scholarship will be withdrawn if the student gets involved in any disciplinary actions during his / her period of study in the University. (iv) Scholarship is not applicable to students withdrawing the admission or discontinuation of studies in the middle of the academic year. (v) Scholarship for 1 year students will be awarded based on the academic performance in both semesters (Odd and Even). For example - First year student will get scholarship benefit in second year. (vi) Scholarship will be renewed on request in subsequent years on consistent academic performance by securing a Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) of (a) 9.5 and above for 5% Students (% of Seats based on total admissions per programme) (b) 9.0 and above for 6% Students (% of Seats based on total admissions per programme) in each semester without any arrear at any point of time. (Backlog subjects should not be there i.e. students to pass all semesters in first attempt only.) (vii) The above mentioned scholarship scheme will be applicable from 2022 admissions onwards.
