Bihar opens 32,388 teacher posts — half of them for Classes 11 and 12
BPSC’s fourth teacher recruitment exam (TRE 4.0, Advt. 15/2026) is taking applications from 25 September to 26 October. 16,101 of the posts are for higher secondary. Exam dates have not been announced.
The Bihar Public Service Commission has opened applications for the fourth round of its Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE 4.0), advertisement number 15/2026, with 32,388 posts.
Where the posts are
- Classes 1 to 5: 3,847
- Classes 6 to 8: 8,563
- Classes 9 and 10: 3,877
- Classes 11 and 12: 16,101
Nearly half the vacancies are at the higher-secondary level. That is the signal for postgraduates with a B.Ed: subject-specific PGT posts are where this round is deepest.

- Applications: 25 September to 26 October 2026, online only. No postal, courier or counter submissions.

How to apply — and the step people get wrong
Applications go through BPSC's One Time Registration (OTR). Complete OTR first, then log in and select TRE 4.0. The commission is explicit that some OTR fields — your name, your parents' names, gender, Aadhaar details and date of birth — cannot be changed afterwards. Enter them exactly as they appear on your Class 10 certificate. A mismatch between OTR and your documents is the most common reason a selected candidate gets stuck at verification.
