Delhi’s final EWS lottery: 4,144 seats allotted in private schools for Nursery, KG and Class 1

Delhi's Directorate of Education has published the final draw of the computerised lottery for free seats in private unaided schools for 2026-27, under the Right to Education reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG) and Children with Special Needs (CWSN).

Seats allotted in this draw

• Nursery: 1,306 EWS/DG and 3 CWSN
• KG: 586 EWS/DG and 1 CWSN
• Class 1: 2,233 EWS/DG and 15 CWSN

That is 4,144 children in all.

How to check

The lists are on the Directorate's website under the EWS/DG admission section. Choose the 2026 lottery result link and download the PDF for your child's class. Each list shows the registration number, the child's name, the school ID and the school name.

If your child's name is on it

• Go to the allotted school with the original documents you used to apply: the EWS income certificate or DG category certificate, proof of residence, the child's birth certificate and, for CWSN, the disability certificate.
• Do it quickly. The session is already well under way, and the school needs to verify documents before admitting.
• A school cannot charge an EWS/DG student tuition fees. If a school refuses admission to an allotted child or asks for fees, the complaint goes to the Directorate's district office.

The Directorate has billed this as the final draw for these classes this session.
