NIFT 2027 registration is open until 16 November; the entrance exam is on 10 January

The NIFT Entrance Examination 2027 form opened on 16 October 2026 at exams.nta.nic.in/niftee, under NTA's public notice and the information bulletin.

Fee and age limit

₹2,000 for Open, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates and ₹500 for SC, ST and PwD for one programme. Applying for two (B.Des and B.F.Tech, or M.F.M. and M.Des) costs ₹3,000 or ₹750. For B.Des and B.F.Tech you must be under 24 on 1 August 2027, with five years' relaxation for SC, ST and PwD. PG programmes have no age limit.

Seats, and what it means for Gujarat

NIFT's 2027 prospectus lists 5,076 seats across 20 campuses. NIFT Gandhinagar has 266 seats: 38 each in Accessory Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design, Textile Design, B.F.Tech, M.Des and M.F.M. Gujarat has no domicile quota at NIFT, so Gujarat students compete for all of them on the all-India list. Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara are exam cities.
