NEET UG stray round provisional result: 3,108 MBBS, BDS and nursing seats allotted. Wait for the final list, then join by 26 October
The Medical Counselling Committee has published the provisional result of the all-India stray vacancy round: 2,589 MBBS, 405 BDS and 114 B.Sc Nursing seats. Discrepancies had to be reported by 11 am on 20 October. Candidates should report only after the final result, and the reporting window runs until 26 October.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services has released the provisional result of the stray vacancy round of NEET UG counselling 2026. The notice is dated 19 October 2026. The allotment list runs to 137 pages and names 3,108 candidates who have been given a seat in this last all-India round.

What the list shows
| Course | Seats allotted |
|---|---|
| MBBS | 2,589 |
| BDS | 405 |
| B.Sc Nursing | 114 |
| Total | 3,108 |
By quota, 1,421 allotments are All India quota seats and 1,436 are self-financed merit seats; the rest are spread across B.Sc Nursing, open seat, ESIC, IP University, NRI, Delhi University and minority quotas. Ranks on the list run from 3,782 to 11,90,352, so do not assume a low rank ruled you out. Search the PDF for your NEET rank, not your name. (These counts are ours, taken from MCC's PDF.)
The dates that matter now
| Step | Date |
|---|---|
| Provisional result published | 19 October 2026 |
| Report a discrepancy in the result through the grievance system in your MCC login | Until 11 am, 20 October 2026 (closed) |
| Final result | After the discrepancy window; watch mcc.nic.in |
| Reporting at the allotted college | Until 26 October 2026 |
MCC says the provisional result is "only indicative in nature and subject to change". A seat on this list gives no claim to admission, and MCC tells candidates to go to the college only after the final result is declared and the allotment letter can be downloaded.
This seat is not optional
The stray round has different rules from rounds 1 to 3. MCC's information bulletin says a candidate allotted a seat in the stray round has to join it. If you do not, your security deposit is forfeited and you cannot take part in any further round. There is no upgrade from this round and no free exit.
The deposit is ₹10,000 for UR and EWS candidates and ₹5,000 for SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates on All India quota and central institute seats, and ₹2 lakh for deemed universities. MCC will also share the stray-round list with the states, so an allotted candidate is weeded out of state stray rounds.
What to carry to the college
- Allotment letter issued by MCC (after the final result)
- NEET UG 2026 admit card and rank letter from NTA
- Class 10 certificate, and a birth certificate if the Class 10 certificate does not show your date of birth
- Class 12 certificate and marksheet
- Eight passport-size photographs, the same as on your application
- Identity proof: Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence or passport
Carry originals with attested photocopies. MCC's bulletin says a certificate saying your originals are held by another college will not be accepted. If your original marksheets are with a college from an earlier round or a state counselling, get them back before you travel.
What to do now
- Check the provisional PDF for your rank, the college and the quota.
- Download the final result and allotment letter from your MCC login as soon as MCC posts them.
- Plan the trip so you report well before the window shuts on Monday, 26 October.
