Together those five are about 26,300 seats — roughly 45% of all MD and MS seats. Among super-speciality courses, DM Cardiology (592) and MCh Urology (440) lead.

Fine print that matters
- The matrix excludes pending applications to raise intake or start new PG courses for 2026-27. Approved additions will appear in a later, updated matrix.
- It remains subject to revision after appeal decisions. Counselling bodies must use the latest version.
- Colleges must admit only against approved seats; admitting beyond intake is a violation of the NMC Act and invites regulatory and penal action.
- Discrepancies should be reported to the board, ideally before counselling starts.
What it means for you
A seat on this list is not a seat you will get: fees, bonds and stipends differ widely between government, private and deemed colleges. Shortlist branches and colleges now, and check the final matrix MCC uses when counselling opens.
