Gujarat opens MD, MS and diploma admissions: register by 5 pm on 8 October, verify documents by 9 October
Gujarat’s postgraduate medical admission committee is taking registrations for 2026-27 MD, MS and diploma seats in government and private colleges. The ₹28,000 PIN must be bought by 3 pm on 8 October, the form closes at 5 pm that day, and help-centre verification ends at 4 pm on 9 October.

The Admission Committee for Professional Post-Graduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPPGMEC), Gujarat posted its round-1 registration advertisement on 1 October 2026. It covers first-year MD, MS and diploma courses for 2026-27 — government, management and NRI seats in both government and self-financed medical colleges. You need a NEET-PG 2026 qualification and eligibility under National Medical Commission and Gujarat admission rules. The committee fills all of these seats itself, on merit; no college admits directly.
The window is one week
| Step | Opens | Closes |
|---|---|---|
| Buy the registration PIN online at medadmgujarat.org | 1 October | 8 October, 3 pm |
| Online registration and document upload | 1 October | 8 October, 5 pm |
| Document verification and photocopy submission at a help centre | 3 October, 10 am | 9 October, 4 pm |
Note the two-hour gap on 8 October: the PIN sale stops at 3 pm even though the form stays open until 5 pm. A PIN bought at 3:05 pm will not exist.
What it costs
- ₹3,000 non-refundable plus a ₹25,000 refundable security deposit — ₹28,000 in all, paid online for the PIN.
- NRI candidates also hand in a ₹25,000 demand draft as a non-refundable processing fee, payable at Gandhinagar, and have their verification done only at the committee's office in GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar.
Who is eligible
- Graduates of a recognised MBBS course from a university set up under a Gujarat state law and located in Gujarat.
- Graduates of other universities in India or abroad only if they also passed Class 12 with the B or AB group — from the Gujarat board, or from CBSE, CISCE, IB, Cambridge or NIOS at a school located in Gujarat — and were born in or are domiciled in Gujarat.
- In every case, the compulsory rotating internship must be finished on or before 30 September 2026.
- The committee also reprints a long-standing rule: a candidate admitted under these rules in an earlier year cannot take a fresh admission until the period of that course would have ended.
Verification is in person, and by appointment
- You choose your date, time and help centre when you print your registration slip. There are 17 help centres, from B. J. Medical College in Ahmedabad to medical colleges in Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Patan, Bhuj, Karamsad and Surendranagar.
- Help centres work 10 am to 4 pm on weekdays and 10 am to noon on Saturdays; they are shut on Sundays and government holidays.
- Originals only. The committee says DigiLocker copies and colour printouts will not be accepted from round 1 onwards. Carry the originals plus one set of self-attested photocopies.
Documents to keep ready
- All MBBS marksheets, attempt-wise, and your NEET-PG 2026 marksheet.
- Internship completion certificate dated on or before 30 September 2026.
- Provisional registration with a state medical council (fresh graduates) or permanent registration (older batches).
- Proof of date and place of birth and Indian citizenship — the school leaving certificate is compulsory.
- Gujarat-issued caste certificates for SC, ST and SEBC claims; a non-creamy-layer certificate for SEBC and an EWS certificate where relevant. A Gujarati-language certificate must be issued on or after 1 April 2024; an English-language one on or after 1 April 2026.
- Class 12 marksheet and a Gujarat domicile certificate if you studied MBBS outside the state and were born outside it; a no-objection certificate if you are in service.
One more check: your MBBS aggregate
The committee warns that where the MBBS or FMGE aggregate you entered in your NEET-PG form was used to break a rank tie, it will be checked against your original marksheets at admission. If it was wrong, the NEET-PG candidature itself can be cancelled.
After registration closes, the committee publishes a merit list, then opens online choice filling round by round. Tuition for one term (six months) is paid after allotment, and admission is confirmed only when originals are submitted at a help centre.
