How far down the merit list round 1 went
The last-rank list shows the state merit number of the last candidate admitted in each college, branch and quota. For MD General Medicine, the last open-category government seats went at these merit numbers:
| College | Last merit number, open, government seat |
|---|---|
| B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad | 30 |
| Government Medical College, Baroda | 51 |
| Government Medical College, Surat | 63 |
| P. D. U. Government Medical College, Rajkot | 78 |
| Smt. N. H. L. Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad | 185 |
| SMIMER, Surat | 378 |
Management seats closed much further down: General Medicine went at merit number 816 at NHL and 923 at SMIMER. Check your own branch in the full list, and the institute-wise list to see who joined where.
Seats still open
The committee's vacancy list after round 1 counts 359 seats that are still vacant and have not yet been converted to other categories: 244 MD, 102 MS, 12 DNB and 1 diploma. By quota, that is 177 NRI, 102 government quota, 40 in-service, 38 institutional and 2 management seats. The list covers reserved-category, disability, NRI, in-service and institutional seats that have not yet been converted under the committee's rules, so the number open in round 2 may differ.
What to do now: if you got a seat you want, pay the fee and report with your original documents before 4 pm on Friday, 6 November. Plan around the Sunday closure and Saturday's half day. If you are also in MCC's all-India counselling, line up both timetables before you commit. How the state and all-India rounds fit together is in our NEET PG counselling 2026 guide.
