NEET PG round 2 dates changed: MCC adds new seats, choice filling now runs from 10 to 15 November and the result moves to 17 November

MCC has revised the round 2 schedule of NEET PG counselling 2026 because NMC has approved new PG seats for the round. Registration now runs from 1 pm on 7 November to 3 pm on 14 November, choice filling from 1 pm on 10 November to 11:55 pm on 15 November, the final result comes on 17 November and joining is from 18 to 24 November. To give up a round 1 seat without losing your deposit, resign by 6 pm on 9 November.

NEET PG round 2 dates changed: MCC adds new seats, choice filling now runs from 10 to 15 November and the result moves to 17 November

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) issued Notice No. 5 on 7 November 2026, changing the round 2 schedule of NEET PG counselling 2026. The reason given: the National Medical Commission has approved new PG seats, and they are being added to the round 2 seat matrix. The dates in our earlier round 2 report no longer apply.

If you already hold a round 1 seat

The notice gives a short window to step out cleanly. Until 6 pm on 9 November you can resign your round 1 seat without forfeiting the security deposit:

  • Freeze candidates (happy with the seat, not seeking an upgrade) must go to the allotted institute in person to resign.
  • Float candidates (holding the seat but willing to upgrade) resign online on the MCC portal.

Weigh this before you resign: a seat you give up is gone, and round 2 has no guarantee of a better one. The added seats are not yet listed by college, so wait for the round 2 matrix if you can.

What to do now

  • Choice filling opens only at 1 pm on 10 November, so you have time to study the new seat matrix when MCC posts it.
  • Choices lock automatically at 11:55 pm on 15 November. Lock them yourself after 4 pm on 14 November and print the locked list.
  • The round 2 rules in the PG information bulletin still apply, including the loss of your security deposit if you are allotted a round 2 seat and do not join.
