Gujarat MBBS and BDS special stray round: 88 seats left, and a ₹3 lakh deposit is due by 3:30 pm on 4 November
Gujarat’s undergraduate medical admission committee will fill 56 MBBS and 32 BDS seats that are still empty after four state rounds. Only candidates who consented to the fourth stray round and did not get a seat in it can take part, and they must deposit ₹3,00,000 at a designated HDFC Bank branch or online by 3:30 pm on Wednesday, 4 November 2026.

The Admission Committee for Professional Under Graduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC), Gujarat has announced a special stray vacancy round for the state's MBBS and BDS seats. Its vacancy list dated 2 November 2026 counts 88 empty seats: 56 MBBS and 32 BDS. The committee says it is holding the round on the timetable set by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) so that these seats do not go to waste. The notice went up on medadmgujarat.org at 3:42 pm on 2 November.

Who can take part
- Candidates who gave their consent for the fourth online stray vacancy round of MBBS and BDS counselling. The Gujarati notice adds that the challan opens only for those who filled choices in that round and were not allotted any seat.
- Not eligible, whether or not they gave consent: anyone who has already confirmed admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS or BHMS in any earlier round, and anyone allotted a seat in the fourth stray round.
The ₹3 lakh security deposit
| Step | From | Until |
|---|---|---|
| Security deposit of ₹3,00,000 | 2 November 2026 | 4 November 2026, 3:30 pm |
Log in with your user ID and password to download the deposit challan. You can pay through the online gateway on the website, or in cash or by demand draft in favour of "ACPUGMEC", payable at Gandhinagar, at an HDFC Bank branch the committee has designated. Payments at any other HDFC branch do not count. The list of designated branches is on the committee's site. Only candidates who deposit the full ₹3,00,000 are considered for allotment.
The deposit carries a real risk. If you are allotted a seat in this round and do not confirm admission, the committee will forfeit your ₹3,00,000 deposit plus ₹10,000.
Where the 88 seats are
| Course | Government quota | Management quota | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| MBBS | 12 | 44 | 56 |
| BDS | 24 | 8 | 32 |
| Total | 36 | 52 | 88 |
The largest MBBS blocks are 18 management quota seats at Narendra Modi Medical College, Ahmedabad, 9 government quota seats at Pramukhswami Medical College, Karamsad (8 of them ST), 7 at Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad (6 management, 1 SEBC government), and 5 management seats at Zydus Medical College, Dahod. In dentistry, Ahmedabad Dental College, Bhadaj has 6 government quota seats and the College of Dental Science, Amargadh has 7 across both quotas. By category, 61 of the 88 seats are open, 14 ST, 10 SEBC, 2 EWS and 1 SC.
The committee notes that reserved seats left empty after reserved candidates are placed move to the unreserved pool during allotment: NRI to management, management to government quota, and SC, ST, SEBC and EWS seats to open. So the open count can grow.
After allotment
If you get a seat, pay the tuition fee at a designated HDFC Bank branch within the time given in the schedule, submit your original certificates at the help centre where you booked an appointment, collect the admission order and report to the college. Under MCC's schedule for states dated 2 November, state special rounds run from 3 to 7 November 2026 and the last date of joining is 16 November 2026. A copy of that schedule is on the Gujarat site. If BDS seats are still empty after this round, the committee says it will hold a fifth online stray round.
What to do now: check that you are eligible before you arrange ₹3 lakh, decide which of the listed colleges you will actually join, and complete the deposit well before 3:30 pm on Wednesday, 4 November. Bank queues near a deadline are slow. If you are also in MCC's all-India special stray round, remember that a seat you take there can remove you from the state list. Background on both counselling routes is in our MBBS admission 2026 guide.
