Odisha PG admissions phase 2: choice locking is open until 21 September

Odisha's phase 2 postgraduate admissions for 2026-27 are open. Candidates can submit fresh options and lock their choices through the online Common Application Form on samsodisha.gov.in.

The schedule

  • Choice locking: 12 September, 4:00 pm to 21 September, 11:45 pm
  • Seat allotment: 24 September
  • Reporting and fee payment: 25 to 28 September
  • Final admission for waitlisted candidates: 6 to 7 October

Helplines are available on 155335 and 1800-345-6770, and the Common Prospectus on the SAMS portal carries the eligibility conditions for each programme.

The bit candidates get wrong

Submitting options and locking them are two different actions, and in most centralised systems an unlocked set of choices is either auto-locked at the deadline or treated as incomplete. Do not leave that to the last evening: lock the list, then take a screenshot or download the confirmation as proof. When an allotment is disputed later, the locked record is what the committee looks at.

The second habit worth keeping: fill more choices than you think you need, in genuine order of preference. A short list is how a candidate with a workable rank ends up unallotted in a phase that had seats.
