SBI is hiring six AI officers, from Chief AI Officer to AI architects, at up to ₹1.6 crore a year: apply by 9 November

State Bank of India has opened six posts on a fixed-term basis for AI, analytics and data engineering, under advertisement CRPD/SCO/2026-27/30 from its Central Recruitment & Promotion Department in Mumbai. The advertisement is signed 19 October 2026. Online registration and fee payment run from 19 October to 9 November 2026.

Be clear about who this is for. Every post asks for at least eight years of experience, and the top ones ask for ten or fifteen. It is not an entry-level drive. If you are a student, the useful part is what the bank is paying for and which degrees it names.

The six posts

All six vacancies are unreserved. The CTC is an upper range and the bank says it is negotiable, depending on your current pay and the place of posting. The advertisement splits CTC into 90% fixed pay and 10% variable pay linked to performance.

Who can apply

• Chief AI Officer and the three DGM posts: a B.E., B.Tech or M.Tech in computer science, IT, electronics or a related branch, or an M.Sc in statistics or computer science, MA in statistics, M.Stat or MCA. An MBA or PGDM in finance and any ML or AI certification are preferred, not required.
• Experience for the Chief AI Officer: at least 15 years in banking, BFSI or IT, including at least 3 years in senior leadership of AI, analytics, model oversight and governance. Individual contributor roles do not count towards those 3 years.
• Experience for the DGM posts: at least 10 years in banking, BFSI or IT, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role in the relevant area.
• AI Solution Architect and Enterprise AI Architect: a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, data science, AI, engineering or a related field, with at least 8 years of experience, of which at least 3 years are in AI, analytics or architecture work.

Qualification and experience are counted as on 30 September 2026. Training and teaching experience is not counted. You may apply for only one post; if you apply for more, only the last valid application is kept and the other fees are forfeited.

Fee, selection and terms

• Fee: ₹750 for General, EWS and OBC candidates. SC, ST and PwBD candidates pay nothing. The fee is not refunded.
• Selection: shortlisting by a bank committee, then an interview of 100 marks, then CTC negotiation. For the Chief AI Officer and the three DGM posts, the interview includes a 10-minute presentation on your work. The merit list is made from interview marks only.
• Contract: 3 years, which the bank may renew for 2 more years, to a total of 5. Either side can end it with 3 months' notice. Posting is in Mumbai or anywhere in India.

3. Upload your resume, ID, age proof, degrees and experience proof. Keep your email active, because call letters go by email, and no changes are allowed after the window closes.
