About IIT Delhi

Established in 1961, IIT Delhi is one of 23 IITs in India and is consistently ranked among India's top engineering colleges. The institute has 15+ departments and 10+ centres, plus two satellite campuses in Sonipat and Jhajjar. Its Abu Dhabi campus is part of the effort to internationalise education in India.

More than 63,000 graduates have passed out of IIT Delhi across engineering, physical sciences, management, and humanities and social sciences. Courses run in full-time, part-time and online modes.

Entry to B.Tech requires JEE Advanced, M.Tech and MS require GATE, M.Des requires CEED and the MBA requires CAT. The placement cell organises training sessions and skill development programmes. In the 2024-25 placements reported in the NIRF 2026 overall report, 818 UG four-year students, 103 UG five-year students and 641 PG students were placed.
