CA Intermediate September 2026 results declared on 22 October: check on caresults.icai.org, January 2027 exam forms open 3 November

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has declared the results of the CA Intermediate examination held in September 2026. ICAI's announcements page lists the notice "Results of the Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination held in September 2026 declared" with the date 22 October 2026, and the results portal shows the Intermediate result and merit list as announced on the same day. This follows ICAI's notice of 14 October 2026 that the result was likely by the evening of 22 October, which we reported in our earlier story.

How to check your result

1. Open caresults.icai.org and choose the Intermediate Examination link under "Check Results".
2. Enter your 6 digit roll number and your registration number, then the captcha text shown on the page.
3. Submit and save or print the result for your records.

The portal has three separate links for this exam: the Intermediate result, a separate "Units" result page, and the Intermediate merit list, which asks for the roll number only. Units results use the same roll number and registration number. ICAI's disclaimer on the portal says the online result is correct at the time of release and is not a substitute for the Institute's own confirmation, so keep your admit card handy if you need to raise a query.

Pass percentages and toppers

At the time of writing, the announcements and results pages we could read on icai.org and caresults.icai.org do not carry the pass percentages, the number of candidates who appeared or passed, or any list of toppers. ICAI's merit list is on the results portal and is checked by roll number. We have not reported any figure that ICAI has not published itself, and we will update when ICAI releases its own statement.

If you need to clear a group: January 2027

ICAI's notice of 23 September 2026 fixes the next Intermediate sitting. It was re-checked against the notice on 22 October 2026.

Papers run from 2 pm to 5 pm, with 15 minutes of reading time from 1:45 pm. At centres in India the fee is Rs 1,500 for one group and Rs 2,700 for both groups. ICAI says the schedule does not move if a day is declared a public holiday.

Mock papers and what to do next

• ICAI's Board of Studies announced two series of mock test papers for January 2027 Intermediate candidates on 14 October 2026. Series details are in that notice on icai.org.
• If you cleared a group, check the portal for the exact marks and exemption details before you plan your next step.
• If you are re-appearing, mark 3 and 16 November 2026 in your calendar and keep your Self Service Portal login ready.
