CSIR UGC NET June 2026 results are out for 1.87 lakh candidates
The National Testing Agency has published results and score cards for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET held on 17 and 18 July at csirnet.nta.nic.in. Qualifying marks are 33% for General, EWS and OBC, and 25% for SC, ST and PwD.
The National Testing Agency has declared the result of the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 session on csirnet.nta.nic.in. Score cards can be viewed, downloaded and printed from the same portal using your application number and password.
The numbers
- Exam dates: 17 and 18 July 2026
- Candidates: over 1.87 lakh
- Qualifying marks: 33% for General, EWS and OBC; 25% for SC, ST and PwD
- Disciplines: the science and technology subjects covered by the joint test
What qualifying actually gets you
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET certifies eligibility at up to three levels, and your score card will say which one you cleared: Junior Research Fellowship, eligibility for assistant professor, and eligibility for admission to a PhD programme. These are different bars with different cut-offs, so read the category line on the card rather than assuming the highest one.
What to do this week
Download the score card and the result PDF now and keep both. NTA portals archive these, and a missing score card in February is a real problem when an institute asks for proof. If you have qualified for JRF, the next step is not to wait: fellowship-linked admissions run on institute calendars, and several national laboratories and university departments open applications within weeks of a NET result. Shortlist the labs whose work matches your subject, write to the group leaders, and have your score card attached to the first email you send.
If you missed the cut, the December session is the next attempt. The subject-wise cut-offs published with this result are the most useful preparation document you will get, because they tell you exactly how far off you were.
