Gujarat board textbooks go on sale through Amazon at printed price
The Gujarat State School Textbook Board has signed an MoU with Amazon India to sell its books online at the printed price with no delivery charge, aimed at private-school students.
Gujarat State School Textbook Board (GSSTB) books can now be ordered online and delivered to the door, under an agreement with Amazon India signed in the presence of Education Minister Dr Pradyuman Vaja.
The terms
- Books are sold at the printed price, with no online mark-up.
- No delivery charges.
- Titles across different standards and mediums are covered.
The initiative has been branded “Books to Students with Just One Click”.
Who it is for
The Board distributes around 1.5 crore textbooks a year to self-financed schools through conventional retail channels, and the online route is aimed squarely at private-school families who have had to hunt for titles at local bookshops at the start of term.
Government and grant-in-aid school students continue to receive their books through the school, so this changes nothing for them.
