Gujarat’s medical and dental admissions have moved into their second round with more than two thousand seats still on the table, giving candidates who missed out in round 1 — or who never registered — a genuine second chance.

What is vacant

  • 2,212 seats in total across the state’s medical and dental colleges.
  • MBBS: 1,587 seats. Of these, 785 were never allotted in round 1, 752 were allotted but the candidate did not report, and 50 are newly sanctioned seats at Ananya College.
  • BDS: 625 seats.

Who can take part

The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPMEC) has put 16,196 candidates on the eligible list for the 2026-27 round, including 234 students who registered late and have now been added to the provisional merit list.

The deadline that matters

Choice filling and modification opened on 7 September and closes at 4 pm on 11 September. A no-show in round 1 does not bar you from round 2, but a missed choice-filling deadline does — the committee allots strictly from the choices on record when the window shuts.

If you are holding a round 1 seat you are not happy with, read your college’s upgrade and withdrawal rules before you re-fill choices: in most state counselling systems, accepting a fresh allotment cancels the earlier one.
