  • Numerical Ability: 35 questions, 20 minutes.
  • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 20 minutes.
  • 100 marks in 60 minutes, with each section separately timed. You must clear the cut-off in each section, and each wrong answer costs a quarter of that question's marks. Blanks cost nothing.

The rest of the calendar

  • Prelims result: November 2026. Mains call letters: November. Mains: December 2026.
  • Provisional allotment: March 2027.

What to do now

  • Download your call letter and read the information handout on the IBPS site. Your exam date, shift and venue are on the call letter.
  • Take your call letter and an original photo ID bearing the same name to the centre — you cannot sit the prelims without them. Reach by the reporting time; latecomers are turned away. Keep the prelims call letter: mains candidates must bring it back, stamped, with a stamped copy of their ID.
  • Candidates needing a scribe must fill the online scribe declaration on scribe.ibps.in.
  • Allotted candidates also face a Local Language Proficiency Test for the state they applied to, so be sure you can read and write its official language.
