Posts are split by category. For example, one Fitter and one Fireman post are reserved for ex-servicemen, and one Machinist post for an orthopaedically disabled candidate. Check the table for your post code before applying.
Age, fee and selection
- Age is counted on 5 October 2026: 18–35 years for most posts and 18–25 for Fireman, with the usual relaxations for reserved categories where a post is reserved for them.
- Fee: ₹750 for Technical Assistant and ₹500 for the other posts. Women, SC/ST, ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates who sit the written test get the full fee back. Others get ₹500 back from the ₹750 fee.
- Written test, offline on OMR sheets in Tirunelveli or Chennai (you pick the city when you apply). For Technical Assistant: 80 questions in 90 minutes on your diploma syllabus, with a 0.33-mark penalty for each wrong answer and a pass mark of 32 (24 for reserved categories).
- Skill test is pass/fail only. The final merit is decided purely on written test marks. Fireman candidates instead face a two-stage physical efficiency test and a detailed medical exam.
What to do now
Apply on the careers page of isro.gov.in before 5 pm on 24 October. After paying, open the "Receipt" link and confirm the payment shows as successful, because IPRC does not take responsibility for failed transactions. Fireman applicants must upload the preliminary medical certificate (Annexure A) with the form. With only 22 posts, expect stiff competition, so revise your ITI or diploma syllabus, which is exactly what the written test covers.
