Lost your NTA score card? There is now a formal procedure for a duplicate
The testing agency has established a route for candidates who need a duplicate score card for any examination it conducts. Requests are made through the prescribed procedure and considered after verification of records.
It is a small notice with a wide reach. The National Testing Agency has established a procedure for issuing duplicate score cards for the examinations it conducts, which covers JEE Main, NEET UG, CUET, UGC NET, CMAT, NIFT and the rest of its list.
What the notice says
- Candidates who need a duplicate copy of a score card may submit a request through the prescribed procedure, with the detailed process and requirements published on the agency's website.
- Each request is considered after verification of the necessary records. It is a verified reissue, not an automatic download.
- Candidates are directed to the official website or the agency's prescribed communication channels for further information.
Why anyone needs this
Score cards stop being downloadable from examination portals after a period, and candidates need them years later far more often than they expect: for a lateral-entry admission, for a foreign university's credential evaluation, for a public-sector application that asks for the original qualifying score, or for a verification check by an employer. Until now, a candidate in that position had no clearly stated route.
The practical lesson
Have a formal procedure and use it, but do not rely on it. The moment any result is declared, download the score card and save it in two places, one of which is not your phone. A PDF saved on the day costs nothing; a duplicate request costs a verification cycle and whatever time you do not have when an employer's deadline is on Friday.
